About

Ridgevale Play started as a group chat between friends who kept recommending games to each other and arguing about which ones were actually good. At some point we decided to write it all down instead of losing it in messages, and the site grew from there. We are independent and nobody tells us what to cover.

Every game we write about gets real time on real phones. We care about the stuff you feel after the first hour: does the story keep going, does leveling up mean something, does the touch control get in your way during a fight. A pretty trailer means nothing to us until we have played a few sessions.

We pick games from a mix of sources: reader suggestions, store charts, and whatever the team stumbles on and can't put down. We try to cover different genres because not everyone wants the same thing on a commute. Short arcade runs and sprawling RPGs both belong here.

If we didn't enjoy something, we say so, and we explain why rather than just handing out a low number. The goal is simple: help you spend your time on games that are actually worth it.
